Rahul Kumawat, 25-year-old cyclist, who is on 3000 Km expedition reached Udaipur today covering a distance of 2293 Km. Spreading awareness against Cancer and Voluntary blood Donations, the tour on cycle started from Chennai nearly a month back.

Rahul Kumawat, 25-year-old cyclist, who is on 3000 Km expedition reached Udaipur today covering a distance of 2293 Km. Spreading awareness against Cancer and Voluntary blood Donations, the tour on cycle started from Chennai nearly a month back.

The cyclist received warm welcome from various social groups for his motto and initiative.

Rahul was born and brought up in Udaipur and is working in Chennai based company RNTBCI. The self funded expedition aims at spreading awareness among masses about Palliative Care (essential comfort care required for Cancer patients). The other social objectives are to raise fund for pre-teen boy Arian from Kolkata who is suffering from Hunter Syndrome (rare genetic disorder).

He started the solo cycle expedition on 20th November from Chennai and has travelled across Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Rajasthan. The journey is expected to conclude at AIIMS, New Delhi on 24th December.

According to Rahul, along with Cancer and Hunter Syndrome, expedition also intends to spread word on voluntary blood donation. Rahul said that, “India requires 4 crore units of blood every year against which only 40 lac units are received”. Cycling across states, Rahul also visited blood banks in Gujarat.

Rahul Kumawat further informed that he would be staying in Udaipur for three days. Thereafter, he will continue his expedition and move ahead to Chittorgarh on 15th December.
