Bank account with deposits of around Rs 3 lakh collected in name of Shambhulal Regar, the man who brutally murdered a Bengali labourer in Rajsamand, has been frozen by Rajsamand Police.
Police also arrested 2 businessmen for their role in circulating images on social media related to receipts acknowledging their donations.
Udaipur Range Inspector General Anand Srivastava said that they have frozen bank account in which money was being collected in name of Regar. He said that they would investigate who deposited the money and will check for their links with Regar.
Unidentified policemen informed media that money was donated by 516 people in the account that was operated in name of Regar’s wife Sita.
