Police has managed to solve the three month old case when a medical representative was shot dead in the Dholi Bawdi area. Three people have been arrested in the case.
Readers may remember that one Pramod Mehta, a medical representative was shot dead in Dholi Bawdi area on 5 June. The day light shooting in the crowded area had thrown the people into a state of shock and the shooters had left the scene without leaving any clue.
Over the last 3 months, police investigated over 550 history sheeters and found a lot of evidence from those interrogations. SP Rajendra Prasad Goyal said that name of one Moeen alias Sonu came out repeatedly in the interrogations. When police searched for Moeen he was found missing from his residence. This increase their suspicion. When police finally got hold of Moeen and interrogated him, he revealed names of Mohammad Salaam s/o Abdul Rahman and Saqlain alias Firoz Khan s/o Shiraj Khan as partners in crime. He confessed that they had killed Pramod Mehta with the intent of loot.
The accused revealed that they had information that Pramod used to collect money from external medicine distributors. At this, they carried out a recce (survey) of his activities. They finally got hold of Pramod at Sharma gali, Dholi bavdi. They tried to snatch away the bag filled with money from Pramod. When Pramod did not let go off the bag, then Salaam hit him with the butt of his pistol. When Pramod still didn’t relent, they shot him and the bullet went through his heart killing him on the spot.
Police is now on a lookout to trace the gun that was used in the shooting incident. Police had recieved information that the accused were travelling in an auto towards Delhi Gate. At this police laid at a trap and nabbed the accused.
