Congress Party workers staged a demonstration outside collector office to protest against the alleged system failure in recent flood like situation that occurred on September 11 after heavy rainfall in many parts of the city. Congress blamed the BJP leaders who hold top position in city’s Municipal Corporation for the terrible situation that could be seen all over the city after the heavy rain showers on the last Sunday. Congress Blames BJP for recent Flood like Situation Congress members targeted BJP leaders including MLA, Gulabchand Kataria and Chairman (Municipal Corporation) Rajni Dangi for their failure in handling the situation effectively and purportedly taking actions for their own personal benefits and as a result the development of the city has been neglected. Neelima Sukhadia, the president of district Congress, Advocate Pramodini Bakshi, city Councilor Ayub Khan and many other prominent leaders of Congress were present in the demonstration held for more than an hour. While talking to the media persons Neelima Sukhadia said that, “Congress is wrongly blamed for someone else’s mistake. There are encroachments in river and canals which are the main cause of water logging but who has done it? Look at the condition of Udaipur, its colonies and roads, everywhere there is a state of mismanagement while they (BJP) are busy in taking all the credit of Dewas.” “We are not here today for our party or for our own self but we are protesting here for people of Udaipur so that the Municipal Council gets awake and do something for the cause of the city and its people,” said Sukhadia. Advocate Pramodini Baxi, said, “From the last 15 years, Udaipur has BJP Board in Municipal Corporation but still there is no sign of development in Udaipur. I can notice only one development which is flourishing in Udaipur and that is of Land mafias who have constructed houses in the dried out rivers and canals. The result is in front of us, water is still logged in colonies and houses.” Call it a political stunt or start of another series of blame game initiated by congress party, however there is only one community who suffers at last and that is common public.
