The nomination of one of the strongest candidates of the Law college was rejected today evening. Jaideep Singh Bhimawat, candidate for the post of President, University College of Law told UT that his candidature was rejected despite of him fulfilling the eligibility criteria, and saying that he can’t fight on the post of office bearer for the second time.

 
The nomination of one of the strongest candidates of the Law college was rejected today evening.  Jaideep Singh Bhimawat, candidate for the post of President, University College of Law told UT that his candidature was rejected despite of him fulfilling the eligibility criteria, and saying that he can’t fight on the post of office bearer for the second time. “In the past two years, three candidates have fought for the post of office bearer for two times, why they were not barred or their candidature wasn’t rejected?”, he said.  Jaideep Singh has warned for fast-unto-death if the University will not accept his nomination again. “This is only happening with me as I am one of the strongest contender for the post of President, Law College.  If the officials committed a mistake by not rejecting the candidature of those candidates who were fighting for the second time in the past two years, strict action should be taken against them and I say they should be suspended for not performing their duties properly and according to the law. I need justice”, added Jaideep Singh. Students who fought elections as an office bearer post for two times are as follows : [as per Jaideep Singh] 1.)  Manisha Mandora(law college) : Joint Secretary in the year 2010,Vice President in the year 2011 2.)  Mohan Lal Kumhar(law college) : Joint Secretary in the year 2010, Joint Secretary in the year 2011 3.)  Ashish Chauhan(commerce col.) : Joint Secretary in the year 2010, General Secretary in the year 2011 “The candidature of Jaideep Singh Bhimawat was rejected because according to Clause -5D of the election commission one candidate cannot fight for the post of office bearer for two times.  As Bhimawat had already fought election for the post of Vice- president  in the year 2010, at the Law College he cannot be permitted for the second time for an office bearer post”, said Rajshree Chaudhary, ADSW, Law College.  She further added, “I have rejected the candidature as per the guidelines of the DSW, MLSU”. Professor KC Sodani, DSW, MLSU, said, “I have given the instructions that the candidature of the candidate who is fighting second time at the post of the office bearer shall be rejected, as per the university rules.  I don’t have an idea whether any student has fought election in the past for the same post as an office bearer for two times”.
