After their victory in the Rajasthan Assembly Elections 2018, the Congress are moving ahead to form the government in the state. Sachin Pilot and Ashok Gehlot led the party to victory in the elections are now in contention for the post of Chief Minister. The internal arrangement must already have been made and the roles decided, but yet not declared.
Both the contenders have reasons to be considered as Chief Minister or otherwise.
Sachin: has been active in state politics for the entire term and played a substantial role in getting the public mandate for his party; is young and energetic with a plethora of ideas, which when implemented could set an example for other states to follow; however, his lack of experience in leading at such a level could be one of the reasons which might go against him.
Gehlot: has been Chief Minister of Rajasthan for two terms and has immense experience; has the political acumen to redo a lot of good to the state, which otherwise has been missing in the last term; however, his experience could augur well for the party at the national level and he can play an advisory role as far as Rajasthan is concerned and be at the helm of affairs with the team at Delhi, formulating strategies for the Lok Sabha elections.
