Travellers at Maharana Pratap Airport Udaipur will soon have an entertaining wait for their flights. Airport authorities are in process of starting radio service at airport premise for providing entertainment for passengers who often get bored while waiting for their flights.
A decision has been taken by Airport Authority of India (AAI) to start radio service at 29 airports across the country. The service will include announcement about utilities and flight related information besides playing music.
The list includes major airports like Udaipur, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bhubaneshwar, Calicut, Chennai, Goa, Guwahati, Pune, Ranchi, Raipur, Kolkata, Mangalore, Madurai, Indore, Patna, Srinagar, Banaras, Jammu, Dehradun, Trivandrum and Lucknow.
Choice of airports have been on basis of maximum passenger footfall. This 24X7 service is expected to start by year end. Private agency may be engaged for playing curated music at the airport.
Expression of Interest (EoI) will be invited from players who have past experience of conceptualising, developing and broadcasting this service.
