Reliance Jio has been penalised with 10000 rupees for not providing a recharge even after payment was made by a consumer. As per reports consumer Mukesh had visited Reliance Jio Digital Life company counter in Sector 3 Hiranmagri in April 2017 for having his number recharged for an amount of 303 rupees. In spite of paying the recharge amount, he was not given a recharge for which he even contacted the above said company but in vain.
This lapse on part of Reliance Jio resulted in no-service on the consumer’s mobile from April to July 2017. Consumer Mukesh then lodged an appeal in the Lok Adalat as per which the company has now been directed by the presiding members of the court to pay 5000 rupees to the consumer and 5000 rupees as penalty to District Legal Authority.media reports
