Regional Transport Office (RTO) Udaipur suspended 126 driving licenses in the first quarter of financial year 2018-19. Out of the licenses cancelled, 69 licenses were from Udaipur district, 17 from Rajsamand, 22 from Banswara and 18 from Dungarpur.
The press note from RTO said that they carried out the suspension in line with the advisory issued by the Road Safety Committee formed by Hon. High Court. The committee had noted that 3 months license suspension was warranted in the following 6 cases:
- Jumping red light at traffic signal
- Over-loading truck
- Taking passenger in loading vehicles
- Drunken driving
- Talking on mobile phone while driving
In the last entire financial year Apr-2017 to Mar-2018, a total of 367 licenses were suspended.
