A special stress release schedule has been decided for the students of engineering. All students taking admission for engineering will go through this special process before going ahead with studies.
Human values and behavioural patterns will be taught to these new students from now on. Director Rajiv Singhal of IIT BHU Varanasi has prepared this special module. The induction module is for 3 weeks and has been designed to keep the students free of stress during their entire course duration.
As per the module, students will first be taken round the city so that they can get familiar with the city they are living in. The module has already been applied for the students in Maharana Pratap Agricultural University. As stated by Dean Prof. SS Rathore, CTAE is the second university in the country which has applied this module. From the next session, the same module will be applied in all the engineering colleges of India.
In the 3 week induction programme, students will be taken round the city, after which there will be lectures on life goals, atmosphere, daily routine and topics of stress release. Students will be taught to regularise their daily routine like getting up early, sports each day and also exercises. For solving personal problems if any, faculty mentors and student mentors will be appointed. Studies will follow after these procedures are carried out well.
Dr. Rathore said that sometimes students are extremely tensed while taking admissions. Some of these students are depressed because they didn’t get an entry in IIT. Students also carry load regarding studies and a fear always engulfs them. Some students leave studies because of fear and tension. This module has been designed keeping all such students in mind. Dr. Rathore also said that this module for stress release is sure to make the students comfortable with their environment in college.
