Udaipur-Mysore express will soon have a “Train Captain” to liaise between passengers and departments related to security, sanitation, food etc.
This initiative has been taken by Pune railway division. The initiative will be launched in 39 super fast trains, including Udaipur-Mysore express, passing through Pune. Train Captains will assist on-board passengers with speedy resolution of their complaints.
This service was launched last months with 3 captains on a trial basis and after the successful completion of trial, it was decided to extend this service to 39 trains.
The Train Captains will look after issues of passenger safety (especially women passengers), food, sanitation, electrical and other technical issues. The captains will liaise with different teams for ensuring resolution of passenger complaints.
The train captains will wear a special badge and will have an attire which will be similar to ticket checkers.
Passengers will be given information about train captains before start of journey via the announcement system.
