After Hong Kong, now Dubai suspends incoming flights of Air India Express

After an Air India Express flight flew in a COVID-19 positive passenger into Dubai from Jaipur on September 4, the aviation authorities of the Emirate have cracked down on the airlines and banned it from flying into the Emirate.

Air India Express flights to Dubai will be banned from September 18 till October 2, 2020.

For resumption of operations to Dubai airports, you will be requested to submit a detailed corrective action/procedure implemented to prevent such incidents from occurring again” – Dubai Civil Aviation Authority in its notice of suspension to AI Express.

This is not the first time that an AI Express flight has been banned for flying in COVID-19 positive passengers. Hong Kong government had banned Air India Express in August for a similar reason.

Adding on to the woes of the carrier, the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority has instructed the airlines to pay all the expenditure incurred by the Emirates’ authorities for medical services and quarantine of the passenger and other passengers in the same flight.

Air India Express has diverted all its Dubai bound flights between 18 September 2020 till October 2, 2020 to Sharjah.
