Indian Railways has announced a new rail service linking Udaipur with Chandigarh, enhancing travel convenience for passengers. The Chetak Express, which currently operates between Udaipur and Sarai Rohilla in Delhi, will now be extended to Chandigarh.
Passengers traveling from Chandigarh to Udaipur currently need to go through Delhi to catch a train, which is both time-consuming and costly. Additionally, the Chetak Express, which is a popular choice for devotees heading to Khatu Shyamji, also passes through Ringas Junction.
The extended Chetak Express will offer a direct connection, passing through several key stations including Sonipat, Gurugram, Rewari, Ringhas, Ajmer, Bhilwara, and Chittorgarh. This new route aims to simplify travel for passengers from these regions.
Train number 20473 will depart from Chandigarh at 3:45 PM, arriving in Sonipat at 7:00 PM, Sarai Rohilla at 7:40 PM, Gurugram at 8:15 PM, Rewari at 9:21 PM, Ringhas at 11:31 PM, Ajmer at 2:10 AM the next day, Bhilwara at 7:00 AM, Chittorgarh at 5:25 AM, and finally reaching Udaipur at 7:25 AM.
On the return journey, train number 20474 will leave Udaipur at 5:04 PM, reaching Sonipat at 6:10 AM the next day and Chandigarh at 9:15 AM.
This new service will provide additional travel options for passengers heading to pilgrimage sites such as Ajmer Sharif and Ringhas. It also offers a more direct route for those travelling from Chandigarh to Udaipur, bypassing the need to transfer in Delhi.
