Ratnagiri Hills– a valuable addition to tourism in Udaipur

Yet another addition to the city if lakes is the Ratnagiri hills in Bhuwana, Udaipur. Last year in August,5000 plantations were done during the “Van Mahotsav” on 17.91 acres of barren land to give it a the most beautiful green look.

Gulab Chand Kataria had declared a sum of 50 lakh rupees for the development of this area as a tourist point. As per the declaration, UIT has already fortified this area by means of a roundabout wall. A 2.5km of walking track has also been developed.

To promote “Save the girl child project”, a park in honour of daughters is also being developed. As per this, any family belonging to that particular Panchayat area when blessed with a daughter will be planting a tree in this park. Trees like Gulmohar, Neem, Amaltash, Peepal, Banyan, Palash etc. have already been planted here.

Another centre of attraction will be the amusement park and open gym. From this hillock, people can get a view of Fatehsagar, Pichola and the entire city. The park will have herbal plantations, chatris and amusement centres for children at various points. Hindustan Zinc is looking after the plantations on Ratnagiri.
