Udaipur, famed for its majestic palaces and picturesque lakes, has seen a significant rise in air travel activity at Maharana Pratap Airport. In March, the airport recorded a remarkable increase in passenger numbers, reflecting the growing popularity of Udaipur as a tourist destination.
Increased Passenger Traffic
In the month of March, the number of air travellers surpassed 150,000, according to statistics released by the Maharana Pratap Airport administration. A total of 150,996 passengers travelled by air during the month, marking a substantial increase compared to the previous year's figures. This surge in passenger traffic signifies the growing appeal of Udaipur among domestic and international tourists.
Comparing with the previous year, the rise in passenger numbers is evident. In March alone, Udaipur Airport served 10,085 more passengers than the same period last year. Additionally, the airport has witnessed an increase in aircraft movements, with 1,354 flights recorded in March, contributing to the bustling activity at the airport. In February it was 1,373.
The airport has increased its flight connectivity, offering 22 flights to 8 prominent cities. Delhi and Mumbai remain the top destinations, with 6 and 5 flights respectively, indicating the strong air link between Udaipur and these key metropolitan cities. Notably, Bangalore has seen an uptick in flight frequency, with 4 flights now connecting the two cities, reflecting the growing demand for travel between Udaipur and Bangalore.
