People are preferring deluxe and semi-deluxe buses over Roadways buses. Deluxe and semi-deluxe buses are used for long-distance journeys in Roadways. Luxury buses are also available, but due to the poor condition of other buses, people are showing less interest in traveling in them. In Udaipur, there are currently 82 operational buses, out of which more than 14 are non-operational. Approximately 10 of these buses belong to the deluxe and semi-deluxe categories. Among them, two-by-two seaters and sleeper buses are in service, connecting destinations like Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota, Abu Road, and more.
Passengers express a preference for these buses due to their enhanced comfort, especially in comparison to other buses where the passenger load tends to be lower. This makes the deluxe and semi-deluxe options more appealing for those traveling in and around the region.
In Udaipur, there are five Volvo buses in operation. Three of them operate for Jodhpur and two of them to Jaipur depots. These buses typically experience a lower passenger load due to their considerably higher fares compared to regular buses. Consequently, everyday commuters often opt against traveling in these buses.
Worse Condition of Rural Buses
Buses in rural areas are currently in a state of disrepair, often being older and worn-out vehicles. Breakdowns during journeys are a common occurrence. In hilly terrains, passengers frequently face the inconvenience of disembarking as buses struggle to navigate uphill, requiring assistance. In light of these challenges, travelers often deem it more suitable to choose private vehicles for their journeys, considering the unreliable and problematic state of rural buses.
The state of Roadways buses arriving in Udaipur is notably subpar. Some of these buses exhibit torn seats, while others suffer from jammed windows. Additionally, many buses are visibly covered in a layer of dust. Faced with such conditions, passengers frequently find themselves reconsidering before opting to take a seat in these buses.
