Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has directed the Railways to conduct a survey of a new rail route for 20 km from Tintoi to Modasa. MP Garasiya had recently, in the Rajya Sabha, raised the issue of a new rail route from Tintoi to Modasa and connecting it to the Udaipur rail route. After this rail route is connected to Udaipur, a direct rail service from Udaipur to Mumbai will be started, as a result of which the Ahmedabad route can be avoided and passengers will not need to change trains at Ahmedabad.

Garasiya, after raising this issue, had also met the Union Railway Minister personally and demanded that the issue be resolved as soon as possible. The Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav informed MP Garasiya through a letter that instructions have been given to the concerned Directorate for a detailed survey of connecting the 20 km new rail route from Tintoi to Modasa in Gujarat.
