The trial run of Rajasthan's third Vande Bharat train, operating between Udaipur and Jaipur, was successfully conducted on Sunday. The train completed a distance of 400 km in 6 hours and 40 minutes, maintaining an average speed of 110 km/h. However, during the trial, it arrived at Jaipur around 2:30 pm, which was approximately 30 minutes later than the scheduled time. On the return journey, the train departed from Jaipur at approximately 4:30 pm, running behind schedule by about 30 minutes. Surprisingly, it managed to arrive at platform number 5 of Udaipur's city station at 9:56 pm, 4 minutes ahead of the expected schedule. Railway sources mentioned that the journey was interrupted by herds of cattle crossing the tracks at several points.

The train commenced its journey from the city station of Udaipur at 8:10 am, receiving warm welcomes at various stations along the route. Notably, there was also a substantial crowd of people gathered at the Udaipur station to witness the departure. According to the trial's locomotive pilot, the train's speed limit cannot exceed 110 km/h on the Jaipur-Udaipur track, and this speed was maintained during the trial run. The train has a maximum achievable speed of 130 km/h but is designated for travel on a B category route. As a result, the operational speed for this route will remain at 110 km/h.

Additionally, there was a crew change in Ajmer, which further contributed to the delay. The circumstances regarding the animals were noteworthy, as an incident occurred where, upon departing from Udaipur's city station, a dog collided with the train near Rana Pratap station.  According to sources, the operational schedule of the train has not been made public yet. Consequently, its fare has also not been disclosed. However, it is anticipated to be in the range of 1500 to 2000 rupees. The official schedule will be released by the Railway Board once they receive the green signal from the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).

The plan entails operating the train six days a week, excluding Sundays. Moreover, there is an anticipation that its commencement will take place on 15 August, 2023. This semi-high speed train, furnished with cutting-edge amenities, comprises 8 coaches accommodating a total of 530 seats.
