Summer heat is not merely heat this year. It is fire and it is burning deep down. Keep yourself protected as this heat tends to disturb the digestive system to a great extent. It makes you feel uncomfortable and also makes you lethargic.
Try out these salad combos to cool down your system and feel fit and healthy with these great salad combos at home instead of indulging in aerated drinks and canned or tetra pack juices.
Veggies & Nuts combo – The best thing to escape heat waves is onion. Merely eating onion may not be what you like, so try out this combo with the regular tomato and cucumber at home. Roast a few nuts (dry fruits as per your choice) and add them to the chopped onion, tomato, cucumber combo. This has a lot of benefits. Onions as we have already mentioned above act as a preventive measure against the heat waves. Cucumber is good cooling agent and tomatoes add to the taste when sprinkled with black salt and some chaat masala and some fresh pudina (mint leaves). The roasted nuts as per your choice will make your salad a wholesome food and you will feel full for a long time. Keep drinking water and butter milk or kairi panna to beat the heat.
Sprouts – Sprouts are a great source of proteins. Eat this nutritive salad every day with the regular finely chopped onions and tomatoes. Moong sprouts are known for their health benefits.
Fruit chaat– Chop the seasonal fruits like water melon, musk melon, mangoes and papaya. Take fresh pomegranate and mix them well adding black salt and a few drops of lemon juice.
American Corn salad– Boil American Corn, add pomegranate beads, cucumber, lemon juice, chaat masala and chopped fresh coriander. This salad will be greatly loved by children, too, as they are fond of American Corn.
Raw mango salad mix– Raw mangoes are easily available in summer season. Chop some raw mangoes and onions (as per choice). Add freshly chopped coriander, chopped mint leaves, salt and sugar to taste and some roasted jeera (cumin) powder. You can also add a very small portion of red chilli powder or a very small portion of finely chopped green chilli. Even a small portion of this salad helps a lot against the heat.
You can add curd to the veggie salad mix and American corn salad. Do not mix curd and lemon juice both to any salad. One of these products is recommended at one time.
