Muslim community of Udaipur carried out a mass procession today to mark the auspicious occasion of Milad-un-Nabi, birthday of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
The colorful procession started from Mukherjee Chowk and concluded at Imrat Rasool Baba’s Dargah.
Dressed in the traditional attire, Muslim men of all ages enthusiastically took part in the celebration and expressed their love and devotion for their Prophet.
Vibrantly decorated tableau and playing of naat (musical poetries glorifying God and Prophet) were main attraction of the convoy. At many places the devotees were welcomed by locals of the area providing snacks and sweet drinks.
Prophet Muhammad was born in 570CE in Saudi Arabian city of Mecca which was known as Hejaz. Prophet with few of the early Muslims migrated to the city of Medina on 622c and extends the teachings of Islam until the conquest of Mecca in the year 629c.
