Udaipur was ranked at the 3rd position in the World’s Best Cities 2018 by Travel & Leisure (T+L). Udaipur topped the list in Asia. The top ranked two cities are both in Mexico: San Miguel de Allende (1) and Oaxaca (2).
The ranking is based on survey conducted by Travel & Leisure (T+L). Every year the magazine asks its readers to rate travel experiences around the globe. Surveys are done for top cities, islands, cruise ships, spas, airlines, and more. The cities were rated on their sights and landmarks, culture, cuisine, friendliness, shopping, and overall value.
San Miguel de Allende, Mexico topped the list with a score of 91.94. Oaxaca, Mexico was second with a score of 90.52. Udaipur scored 89.31 to be ranked third on the list. The other cities in top-10 in order of their rank are as follows: Ubud, Indonesia; Kyoto, Japan; Florence; Luang Prabang; Hoi An, Vietnam; Chiang Mai, Thailand; and Charleston, South Carolina.
Incidentally, San Miguel de Allende also topped the list last year.
Udaipur is the only city in India to make it to the Top-15 list. Last year Udaipur was ranked 14th on the list.
