Dusshera Deepawali Mela, which has become an integral part of the festive season for Udaipurites, commenced yesterday, bringing with it immense joy and promising a week filled with merriment!
This grand event was inaugurated by Mewar Mahamandelshwar Shri Raas Bihari Sharan Ji. Chief Guest was Mr. Gulab Chand Kataria ex-home minister. With a budget of around Rs.30 Lacs, this event covers an area of 30,000 sq.ft including the gigantic stage and has around 200 shopping and eating stalls
If you are already wondering about the security of our lovely Udaipurites, then well worry no more. Above 70 policemen have been deployed for security in and around the Town Hall.
While sitting arrangements have been made for 1000 people, almost 2000 were expected to turn on the first day. Vehicle Parking arrangements are on the town hall link road and enough number of Traffic Police are stationed outside the auditorium complex, and they will remain till the program ends.
V.I.P. Passes for the event are given by Nagar Parishad, free of cost. Local Passes are handed to respective Parshad of each area and they will give it to the interested people, free of cost again.
The Sound System and other related equipments, a must to make such events a success, are provided by the Udaipur based Business, Dehli Wala Sound System.
Yesterday October 27, was Local Talent Night in which many striking performances swayed hearts of Udaipurites. Most lovable performance was of 8 year old girl, Meenal Garg, who mesmerized everyone with her traditional Bhavai Dance. Balancing 7 Matkas(pots) on her head and carrying Diya on each hand she picked out note from a bottle and then came down from stage to greet our Mayor Mrs. Rajni Dangi. Mrs. Rajni Dangi honored her talent at the spot by rewarding her cash prize of Rs.500 in midst of cheering crowd.
Another talented girl who stole hearts of Udaipurites with her delicate voice was Saumya Talesra. This talented singer sang many Filmy numbers adding musical magic in fete phenomenon. So, if you weren’t a part of the hustle-bustle on the first day, make sure do not miss the following days!
