According to Firoz, the flowers are boiled and ‘aararot’ (Starch Powder) is mixed in the colored liquid. It is then dried and crushed to get colored powder. To get one kilogram of colored powder, 3 kg. of flowers and 1kg of starch powder is required.

The process is time consuming and requires hard labor; hence the cost of production goes high. The Self Help Groups plan to prepare only 15 Quintals of this herbal color.

This powder has natural fragrance and is totally safe for use. On the contrary chemical colors available in the market are harmful to the skin, eyes and cause many diseases like asthama, allergy, rashes, etc.

These eco- friendly herbal colors are becoming very popular among health conscious people. They are highly recommended by the doctors also.

These colors will be available at different counters installed in the Udaipur city by the Forests Department, Udaipur South.
