UdaipurTimes, brainchild of Zaheer Abbas is Proud to have turned 9 today. The conceptualization of UdaipurTimes, or UT as we all love to call this platform, began 9 years ago as a slight blog of Udaipur information in times when Internet and mobile usage was not very rampant in Udaipur and nearby areas.
There was no quality information or content available in print or on the web, which Udaipur could call its own. And it is in these circumstances that Zaheer thought… we why not, and UT or UdaipurTimes was born.
I was at a Chai ki Thadi and figuring out what to do with the evening, that I heard someone talking about Facebook. I had not heard this term in Udaipur in the last one year that I had been doing my software business. This led me to meet Zaheer, who said that he has a blog called UdaipurTimes. This was the initiation of our story together. UdaipurTimes became Rajasthan’s first Hyperlocal News platform from that moment onwards.
A lot of people have been a part of this 9 year journey, which has by no means been easy or comfortable. Zaheer Abbas, Puneet Sahlot, Aditya Joshi, Vajrasar Goswami, Kali Garg, Saeed Ahmed, Angadjeet Singh, Veidehi Kachhwaha, Krati Bansal, Harshit, Chinmay Samar, Gaurav Bhandari, Sofiya Shah, Monica Goyal, MK Kothari, Divya Valwani, Shailendra, Gaurav Bhimawat, Sohail Khan, Rahul Soni, Mansoor Orawala, Shabbir RV, Ayush Devpura, Mahima, Devika Sisodia, Praveen Chohan, Mahima Mantri, Shailendra Paliwal, Poonam Arora, Vipin Solanki, Satish Sharma are among the Champions who have contributed over the years to get UdaipurTimes or UT to the modest level of recognition, love and respect that it commands today.
Let us take you back to nine years ago, sharing the first Nine posts on UdaipurTimes. Go RETRO our dear readers…May 13, 2010
