Water Resource department is on its way to create 6 water pools in Ayad river before monsoon sets in. Work is already in progress.
6 water pools are being made in Ayad River under Ayad river development project. Estimated budget for this project is around 364 lakh rupees. Work is in progress. 70 percent work is done for water pool near Pula cemetery with a budget of 64.44 lakh rupees. 40 percent work is done near Subhash Nagar Temple with a budget of 69.69 lakhs, 90 percent work is done near passport office (74.04 lakhs), 50 percent work has been done near Subhash Nagar School with a budget of 37.76 lakhs. Work is in progress near Ashok Nagar cemetery. Water Resource department is targeting at completing the task of water pools before the monsoon sets in.
Old bridge at river in Pula will be converted into water pool. 8 gates will be installed under the Pula Bridge to stop rain water. All water pools being made in rivers will have gates. Repair and maintenance work is also going on for the gates at lakes. Grease was applied to Swaroop Sagar gates on Sunday. It is being expected that all repair work will be done by 1st June. The bigger dams will be repaired on priority basis.
