Winter season is setting in bringing minimum temperature down to 14 degrees. It’s now the time for the much awaited season that brings along a lot of variety with it…it’s time to gear up for winters.

This year winter has come in late. People have been waiting for the season to change to enjoy the positive vibes that come in the form of weddings and many more celebrations. Even tourism industry was looking forward to this change.

 Temperatures have started going down bringing that slight chill in the mornings and evenings as well. Though the afternoons are still warm, the change in morning and evening is most welcome. People are looking forward to enjoying variety in food which is not seen in the summer season. With the fall in temperatures, it is expected that the food festival in Shilpgram will be crowded with both local people and tourists.

Tourist spots are witnessing more crowd during evenings as the cool breeze seems more comforting that the 34 degree temperature that stays during the day. Met department pointed out that the minimum temperature was 15 degrees a day earlier. With a drop in the temperature, people have started carrying light woollens in the morning and evening.

Even the woollen market at Samor Baag is all set to attract customers. Vegetables vendors have started bringing in green leafy vegetables (though it is a little early) but the wait for a good diet is over. Kitchens have started throwing out aroma of delicious food via exhaust fans and roads and lanes seem to be smelling of food everywhere. Blankets and sweaters, jackets and shawls have moved out to be aired and sun-fed.

Tourism industry was looking forward to this season as this is the time when tourists enjoy moving out. Though prior bookings in hotels were done six months back, hoteliers were still waiting for the change in season for the comfort of their guests.

Since the days are getting windy, it is very much possible that temperatures will drop even more. The days may seem hot but once inside four walls, even fans are not needed.
