Winds delay the arrival of monsoon in Udaipur
Monsoon may get delayed by a few days in Udaipur.
Udaipur witnessed a fall in temperature and Sunday was a partly cloudy day. Pocket rain could be experienced in some areas. As per the met department, winds have delayed the arrival of monsoon. Mewar may have to wait for some more days to experience a good rainfall, though pocket rain may continue.
Monsoon is active in Madhya Pradesh, Southern part of Gujarat, Eastern Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra. It is yet to advance towards North and North-West part of India. Since the easterlies and south easterlies have not yet started advancing towards north and north west, monsoon winds have weakened in the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea hence the delay in the monsoon reaching Mewar region. The low pressure area responsible for rains is not being created as winds are pushing away the clouds. It is just that pocket rain may be experienced in some parts of Udaipur.
