A four-year-old female Leopard died due to electrocution while attempting to kill stray dogs. The incident occurred last night in a Brick Furnace section at Lakadvas area, close to Bagdara Nature Park. Two dogs were also killed after getting into contact with the 1100 KV wires installed just above the brick stack. Dr. Lalit Joshi, veterinary who conducted the autopsy of the Leopard said that the animal was pregnant with three cubs. According to locals of the area, it is assumed that the Leopard, while running after two stray dogs climbed on top of the brick mound. The dogs touched the electric wires situated just above the brick mound and were killed instantly. As Leopard was chasing the dogs, she eventually got into contact with the wire too and was thrown away due to the shock.
