Advancing in the direction of traffic management, Udaipur’s Traffic Department has started issuing challans that will be sent at the residence of the traffic rules violators. This will be done with the help of photographs of the vehicles clicked by the Jawans deployed at various city areas.

Talking more about the new step, Goverdhan Singh, SI Traffic explained that the traffic rules violators seen in the city including those without the helmets, talking on the mobile phone while driving and exceeding the sitting capacity on two-wheeler will be captured in the cameras. After identification of the license plate number through RTO, challan will be first send to the respective police station of the circle that will further send it to the house.

Singh also added that around 700 challans were made by the department against the people who were found violating the traffic rules in different ways. The department has deployed 10 jawans at major areas of the city with cameras to click pictures of the rule breakers.

Once the law offenders are caught in the camera, their vehicle numbers will be matched with those mentioned in the RTO records and a challan issued will be sent to the house of the individual.
