Tech Mahindra CEO Tweets "Challenge Accepted..." as OpenAI CEO says Indian companies cannot compete with ChatGPT

 

CP Gurnani, the CEO of Tech Mahindra, tweeted "Challenge Accepted" to a comment by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, where he said that it is hopeless for Indian companies to compete with the ChatGPT Foundation Model.

In his tweet, which came after a comment by Sam Altman to a question by Rajan Anandan, Google Vice President - India and South East Asia on whether India can build an artifical intelligence tool like ChatGPT. Altman also met the Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his six nation tour that includes India. Anandan, during a Q&A session at an event hosted by Economic Times, had asked Altman whether Indian startups can build substantial foundational models. To this Altman replied that Indian companies cannot compete on Artifical Intelligence advancements with their Silicon Valley counterparts.

Anandan, in his response tweet to Altman's response, said that "...5000 years of Indian entrepreneurship has shown us that we should never undersestimate the Indian entrepreneur...we do intend to try..."
