Both devices must be connected to same local WiFi network.

In a recent announcement on Instagram, Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, shared some exciting news for WhatsApp users. The latest update allows users to conveniently transfer their chats between devices, though limited to devices operating on the same operating system. This new feature aims to streamline the process of migrating WhatsApp chats when switching to a new phone. Previously, users had to go through the manual backup and restore process, which could be time-consuming. However, with this new functionality, WhatsApp users can seamlessly transfer their chat history between devices without inconvenience.

To take advantage of this feature, users need to follow these steps:

1. Open WhatsApp on your old phone and go to "Settings."

2. Tap on "Chats" and then select "Chat History."

3. Choose the "Export Chat" option.

4. You can select whether to include media (photos, videos, etc.) or not.

5. Now, you will see a list of apps to share the chat. Select "WhatsApp" from the list.

6. On your new phone, install WhatsApp and log in to your account.

7. Open WhatsApp on your new phone and scan the QR code displayed on your old phone.

8. Once the QR code is scanned, the chat transfer process will begin.

9. After the transfer is complete, you will be able to access your chats on your new phone.

It is important to note that both your old and new phones need to be connected to the internet during the transfer process. Also, the chat transfer feature is currently available for iPhone and Android users who have the latest version of WhatsApp installed on their devices.
