Udaipur, December 24,2024 - WhatsApp, the popular messaging app, will no longer work on more than old Android smartphones starting January 1, 2024. This is because WhatsApp updates its requirements to keep up with new features, and older phones can’t support these updates.  

What Does This Mean?  

If your phone is very old (around 10 years old) and uses Android KitKat or an earlier version, WhatsApp will stop working. Some other apps like Facebook and Instagram might also stop working soon on these phones.  

Brands Affected  

Phones from brands like HTC and LG, which don’t make smartphones anymore, are on this list.

What Should You Do?  

• Check Your Phone’s Age: If your phone is only 5–6 years old, you don’t need to worry.  
• Back Up Your Chats: If you have an older phone on the list, back up your WhatsApp chats to a Google account. This will make it easy to transfer your chats to a new phone.  

Upgrading to a newer phone will let you keep using WhatsApp and other apps smoothly.
