IIT Bombay students have introduced a groundbreaking innovation in the world of electric bikes with the debut of the Hornback X1, the planet's inaugural foldable diamond e-bike. This remarkable achievement is attributed to the ingenious minds at Hornback Cycles, a pioneering startup. Anand Mahindra, the head of the Mahindra Group experienced a ride on this remarkable bicycle.
The business tycoon extended his admiration to the creative minds behind this bicycle and revealed his personal investment in the startup. The Hornback X1, characterized by its diamond frame, boasts a 250W motor and a 36V battery. This cutting-edge e-bike can cover a distance of up to 70 kilometers on a single charge, reaching a maximum speed of 25 km/h. In addition to its impressive features, the bike is exceptionally lightweight at a mere 15 kilograms. Moreover, its user-friendly foldable design allows for quick and effortless folding and unfolding, a process that takes just a matter of seconds.
