Pollution Control Board and Udaipur Administration jointly raided plastic traders and wholesellers based in several areas of the city and seized 142 kg plastic products including disposable glasses, carry bags etc.

Under the campaign launched by Udaipur administration to make the city Plastic Free, strict regulation was imposed on all merchants trading in plastic bags and other products which are causing pollution in city.

Dr. B.K Soni, Junior Scientific Officer, Pollution Control Board said, “Areas of Krishi Mandi, Nara Khara and Dhan Mandi were targeted as most of the traders are based in these places. We have raided more than 20 places and fined three businessmen.”

“Most of the banned items were found from Nara Khara area,” said Soni.
