2 House burglaries in one night, Theft continues in Udaipur

A burglary has come to notice at the house of a local businessman residing at Hiran Magri sector 8, Sanjay Gandhi Nagar on Sunday night of 19th February.
Bhagwatilal Mehta, 50 s/o Bhanwar Lal Mehta was stunned when he was informed at 6:30pm by his sister in-law who lived close to Mehta’s house about the break-in incident. Bhagwatilal and his family were attending the funeral rituals of his mother who passed away few days back at Rao ji ka Hata.

Bhagwatilal Mehta, 50 s/o Bhanwar Lal Mehta was stunned when he was informed at 6:30pm by his sister in-law who lived close to Mehta’s house about the break-in incident. Bhagwatilal and his family were attending the funeral rituals of his mother who passed away few days back at Rao ji ka Hata.

When Bhagwatilal rushed to his house, he saw everything was wrecked up by thieves and cash and ornaments worth more than Rs. 3 lacs were missing.

According to FIR lodged by Bhagvatilal at Hiranmagri Police Station, Rs.48, 500 cash and jewelry worth Rs.3,01,500 lost in the housebreak. It includes many valuable items like gold necklace, diamond ring, 2 gold chains, 25 silver coins along with a gold rakri and cash.

Bhagwatilal owns an ice cream parlour at dudh talai and also maintain the adjacent garden on contract.

Police has started the investigation.

Another house, of a 52- year-old retired advocate Abdul Hameed Khan was reported to have been robbed of jewelry and cash worth Rs. 1.5 lakhs last night at Bhopalpura. The theft was discovered late evening on 19th February.

Khan and his family were out to attend a family function at Savina, when the burglary took place.

According to Intekhab Khan, son of Hameed Khan, when he and his wife returned home at 9:30 pm, they found an empty jewelry box lying on the floor. When they eventually entered their room and checked the wardrobe, all gold ornaments were found missing.

Intekhab informed his family members about the incident. Thieves had stolen jewelry and cash from the rooms of Sahdab, Shikeb and Intekhab Khan, all brothers and living in a joint family.

According to police, the thieves probably got into the house through the roof, using their neighbor’s house, as no locks were found broken.

Another strange thing reported in the incident was that thieves kept all the keys back in their respective places after they were through with their task.
