An elderly couple was allegedly attacked by two muggers who attempted to snatch gold chain from the lady but they failed to grab it and fled before being caught by the locals. Fortunately, the husband of the victim noticed the motorcycle number of the accused and informed police.

The incident left Sharda, resident of 100ft road in shock. Both husband and wife were walking towards Friends Colony yesterday evening when one of the suspects, walked towards them and tried to grab the gold mangal sutra, while another accused was waiting on his motorcycle.

As soon as the mugger snatched the chain, both victim and her husband tried to retaliate and during the struggle, the accused left the victim and ran towards his accomplice and both ran away. A passerby on bike noticed the duo and also tried to follow them but both disappeared.

Police responded soon after being informed. The registration number of motorcycle was also given by the victims.
