With the objective of checking upon the increased incidences of theft occurring in and around the town, in a search operation initiated under the directions of S.P. Udaipur, Surajpol Police arrested a thief and recovered gold and silver ornaments and cash stolen by him few weeks ago from the house of his neighbor. Police expects to uncover several big incidences of theft, with the arrest of this notorious thief.

Sanju Rahi, resident of Lane no. 3, Gusiya Colony, Kishanpol was detained today after his name came into light in respect of theft that occurred on 6^th July at the house of Mohammad Husain. In the initial interrogation, Rahi accepted the burglary he carried out at the house of Mohammad Husain.

On the night of 6^th July, Sanju who works as an electrician was called by Mohammad Husain to check the electric fuse of his house; Sanju repaired the fuse and went back, however returned later that night while the family was asleep and committed the theft.

After Sanju accepted his crime, the Police officers raided his house and recovered an amount of Rs. 1 Lac 4 thousand in cash, 3 pairs of gold tops, 2 gold earrings and a pair of silver anklets.

The accused also accepted of his involvement in several other cases of theft occurred in past couple of years. The interrogation is still going on and there are chances of unraveling other big incidences of theft occurred in past years, said Police.
