It seems that chain snatching is no longer limited to roads now after a woman, resident of Sarvaritu Vilas was being targeted while she was alone and locking her office situated in one of the rooms of her house. This incidence has been added to a number of other mishaps that have happened in the area in the last few months.

The victim Ruchi Agarwal, daughter-in-law of a local businessman was targeted by the accused on Sunday at her house where she runs her business situated near Sagasji Temple. At around 5 PM, the accused rang the doorbell and by taking advantage of the situation, hid behind the gate. When the victim came out and found nobody at the gate, she returned to her office only to be targeted by the accused from behind who snatched the 250 gm gold chain. During the scuffle, a part of the chain dropped at the house whereas the accused fled from the scene with the remaining, said Surajpol police.

The police were informed by the neighbors who heard the screams of the victim. The team rushed to the scene and started the investigation. The victim informed that the accused was around 25 years old young man.

This is to consider that two months back the wife of another businessman residing in the same area was targeted by the chain snatchers. In another incidence, 2 salesman of a company were looted for cash by a duo of accused in the same area. In both the previous cases FIR has been registered at the police station but arrest of the accused is yet by made.
