UIT Patwari arrested for taking Rs.50,000 Bribe

Udaipur Anti Corruption Bureau has arrested four people, including a patwari, employed with UIT for taking bribe of Rs.50,000 from a man, in return of granting him permission for constructing house. Three accused were arrested last night, while the patwari who fled during the raid, surrendered himself to ACB today.

Udaipur Anti Corruption Bureau has arrested four people, including a patwari, employed with UIT for taking bribe of Rs.50,000 from a man, in return of granting him permission for constructing house. Three accused were arrested last night, while the patwari who fled during the raid, surrendered himself to ACB today.

According to ACB, the accused patwari, Kailash Jain (40) demanded Rs.50,000 from Prem Shankar Nagda, resident of Tekri for carrying construction on his land. After the complaint lodged by Nagda, ACB started trapping Kailash Jain and yesterday following the instruction of ACB, when Nagda reached the place directed by Jain to deliver money, ACB official arrested Ajit Jain, Ashok Jain and Shikher Jain (both came to collect the bribe amount), while the main accused Kailash escaped.

Today, following the pressure, Kailash Jain surrendered before ACB.

Under the direction of Rajendra Prasad Goyal, Ad.SP, ACB, the team consisting of officials Rajiv Joshi, Dysp, Sunder Lal Soni, Akhtar Khan, Muneer Khan, Danish Khan, Dinesh Mali, Jitendra Sandia, Babu Lal, Shelender Singh and Hemant executed the task.

ACB official informed that in 2011, Nagda received noticed from UIT to stop construction work on his land; on 9 January 2013, when he started construction, Patwari Kailash Jain called him and demanded Rs.2 Lac from Nagda for construction permission, after negotiation, he later settled on a sum of Rs.50 thousand.

Yesterday, the deal was planned to execute at Ganesh Plaza at Mukherji Chowk, where three people Ajit Jain, Ashok Jain and Shikher Jain were arrested for taking bribe money, while Kailash Jain escaped.
