DGP Manoj Bhatt visits Udaipur, arranges Meeting

The Police will now focus more on the proper implementation of the Helmet rule in the state including Udaipur to reduce the number of deaths in road mishaps, said the Director General of Police, Rajasthan Manoj Bhatt on Thursday while addressing the media during his visit to the city.

The Police will now focus more on the proper implementation of the Helmet rule in the state including Udaipur to reduce the number of deaths in road mishaps, said the Director General of Police, Rajasthan Manoj Bhatt on Thursday while addressing the media during his visit to the city.

Bhatt expressed concern over increasing number of deaths in road accidents in Rajasthan and said that the department will lay more emphasis on wearing helmet while riding two-wheelers.

He also highlighted that on an average around 4-5 people died in every first month for last 3 years in road mishap. In 2014, approx 10,500 died in two-wheeler accidents in the state with 41 from Udaipur alone, which is a considerable figure. The work of identifying the accident prone areas is in progress after which proper arrangement of traffic management and safety measures will be made.

During the conversation, Director General also said that soon a District level Cyber Cell will be developed in Udaipur for which a proposal has already been sent to the government. Once the cell is set up, people will get results against cyber crimes

Bhatt also urged society’s support in reducing crime; he said that the crime can be reduced only when every individual play his role in reducing it along with the police.

According to the new orders by State Home Minister, no unfit policemen will be given field posting after which the focus of the department has been shifted to arrangement of Yoga and other exercises programs will be executed including weight loss program, said DGP.

Steps will also be taken to eradicate the social evil ‘Mautana’ through awareness programs in the places where this practice is being followed.

Talking about the increase in ATM cash thefts, he asserted about the meeting that had held in Jaipur with officials of banks to install CCTV & motion cameras, security alarm systems outside the vestibule connected to nearby police stations so as to ease the pass of information in case of mishap.

Besides this, Bhatt also discussed with his sub ordinates about  various techniques of keeping  better control over the organized crimes and how to reduce such incidences.

Director General was welcomed at Police Investigation Centre of Udaipur by Inspector General of Police Anand Srivastava and Superintendent of Police Ajaypal Lamba and given Guard of Honor. On this occasion all the SPs of the range including SP Rajsamand, SP Pratapgarh, SP Dungarpur and SP Chittorgarh were also present.
