To spread social awareness among common citizens of the city, many private and public organizations have teamed up under the direction of Udaipur Collectorate to start a weekly eco-arts festival series called Mewari Shakti Sundays.
To spread social awareness among common citizens of the city, many private and public organizations have teamed up under the direction of Udaipur Collectorate to start a weekly eco-arts festival series called Mewari Shakti Sundays.
The debut event will be held from 5pm-8pm on Feb 9th at Fateh Sagar Paal which will showcase feature films, music and performing artists celebrating women’s rights and the life of late Rekha Nath Kalbeliya, the famed tribal dancer who was murdered few weeks back.
The event is backed by the office of District Collector Ashutosh Pednekar with number of citizen groups.
Shakti Sundays will be weekly fair events to celebrate the Udaipur region’s unique performance energy, art and crafts, healing traditions, environmental activism etc.
In addition to the Udaipur Collectorate and UIT, initial Shakti Sunday events are being supported, organized and/or performed by Bharat Verma’s Heartbeator’s Dance School, Sensei Raj Academy of Self-Defense, the Anarki Café Music Circle, the Nirvana Café Dance School, Shikshantar, the Millets of Mewar Collective, Udaipur Rotary women, Suchi Abhivan, Swadesh Sewa Sansthan, and Big Medicine Charitable Trust’s Udaipur Shakti Works project.
