A group of the senior leaders of the City, consisting of ex Corporators of Udaipur Municipal Corporation and many social workers associations handed over a Memorandum to the City Administration, addressed to the Governor of Rajasthan regarding the hike in the electricity prices.

The protesters through their Memorandum highlighted that people are suffering due to increased rates of electricity and an atmosphere of discomfort is flowing all over the state after the government’s decision.

Former Leader (Defense) K.K Sharma claimed that all the promises made by the government on the name of bringing “Acche Din” back were only to fool the people for getting their votes.  By doing this the party and its leaders have hurt the sentiments of the citizens and among the most effected sections are the farmers who were fooled on the name of providing electricity for 24 hours.  They were targeted by the party during their Suraaj Yatra.

But now the citizens are all unhappy with increased prices of electricity and are feeling being cheated and on the contrary Government has not given them relief till now.

Sharma further highlighted in their memorandum that almost 18 months have passed but the government has not proved itself in fulfilling the promises made by them to the people and moreover the government is setting an example of failure in fulfillment of their promises, Sharma added.

At the end they have requested the Governor to order the state government to bring down the rate of Electricity and also instructed them to fulfill the promises which were made by them to the people so that they can get relief.
