UPDATE: The body is recovered in the search operation carried out late night of 5 July.  The body of Vijay Jatiya was found under water at around 10pm.

People gathered around lake today evening

The 17-year-old Vijay Jatiya, resident of Housing Board Colony, Goverdhan Vilas drowned while taking bath on the shores of Goverdhan Sagar lake. Even after 3 hours of search operation, the divers of search and rescue team were yet to recover his body.

Vijay was accompanied by his friends when we went for a bath. During the mishap, nobody could save him from drowning in the lake. Few locals informed the police about the incident.

“Our team of divers tried to search the body for three hours but could not find it. Since it is dark now, we have to stop search operation for the day. We will start resume the operation again in morning”, said a police official from Goverdhan Vilas Police Station.

Vijay used to work as a laborer in the area. His father Gulab Jatiya has been informed about the mishap.
