A young man aged around 28 years was saved from committing suicide after he jumped in Pichola lake (along Gangaur Ghat) today evening, with an intention of committing suicide.

On seeing the man jumping in and drowning, a few people standing nearby rushed to get the police and a couple of friends sitting at a restaurant observed the commotion.  One, Pankaj Suhalka, resident of Ganesh Ghati, rushed on the site and saw the man about to drown.  He jumped in and pulled him out.

The Police arrived on the spot and took him away immediately.  No communication has been received about the reasons for the attempt to suicide.  Police are investigating.  The man who attempted suicide hails from Sindhi Bazaar, Udaipur.
