A roadways bus travelling from Udaipur to Sarada met with an accident, which led to the death of 4 people, injuring 10 others.

The passenger bus, which was on its way to Sarada, on the Salumber road on 28 July, was hit by a speeding troller truck.  The bus, which was on halt at a point on the road near Oda village, was hit by a speeding troller after it lost control, throwing the bus along with its passengers into a large pit.  The impact was so immense that 4 passengers died and 10 were injured.  The injured are being treated at hospital.

Dhanpat Singh, a police officer at Zawar Mines, informed media that the bus was on halt near a turn on Salar Ghati. A speeding trailer, which was coming from behind, tried to overtake the bus instead of reducing speed.  The manoeuvre failed, and the rear part of the troller hit a portion of the bus, injuring those sitting near the windows, and the impact, throwing the bus into a near by pit.  All of them were hit on the head.  The other passengers quickly helped the injured out of the bus and informed the police and ambulance.  Of the injured who were being taken to hospital, 4 succumbed enroute.

The deceased included Hemant, s/o Devi Lal Meena, resident of Sarsiya; Hemraj, s/o Rajing Meena, resident of Pal Sepur and Prem Shanker, s/o Bhagwan Meena, resident of Devala.  The identity of the fourth deceased is yet to be ascertained.  The injured, who were identified, included Parvati Meena from Sarsiya, Mangilal from Paluna and Hakra Meena.
