6 people were killed while three were rushed to Udaipur M.B Hospital under critical condition last night as two passenger jeeps were involved in a head-on collision at Kotra Tehsil of Sulav, Udaipur District.

The jeeps were overloaded with passengers and knocked into each other due to imbalance. A dozen people were injured in the mishap and have been hospitalized at the community health center of Kotra while the seriously injured were referred to Udaipur Hospital.

According to local Hindi dailies, the accident was so severe that four people including one woman died on the spot. One of the jeeps was carrying passengers to Beda from Kundal while the other Jeep was coming from the opposite direction, carrying passengers.

The four dead are identified as Lavia, Devli Lal, Mana and Devaram, all residents of nearby villages.

Due to the accident a condition of communal tension also occurred in the area, however Police had controlled the situation.
