8-Year-Old Dies in Playground Accident at Udaipur School
A tragic accident at St Anthony School in Udaipur claimed the life of an 8-year-old student after a handball pole fell on him while he was playing
Udaipur, April 20, 2026 - In a tragic incident in Udaipur, an 8-year-old student of St Anthony School died after a handball pole fell on him while he was playing on the school ground. The incident took place in the Govardhan Vilas police station area, where chaos erupted in the school premises after the accident.
According to information, Maharth Rajsingh (8), son of Devendra Pal Singh Chauhan, was a third-grade student. While playing, he hung onto a handball pole, during which he lost balance and the pole fell directly on his head, leaving him seriously injured.
The school staff immediately rushed the child to MB Hospital, where he died during treatment. As soon as the information was received, Govardhan Vilas police reached the spot and gathered details about the incident.
According to ASI Pratap Singh, the accident occurred around 12:30 pm. The child was taken to the hospital in critical condition, where he passed away around 2:00 pm.
It is being reported that Maharth was the only son of his parents. After the incident, the body has been kept in the mortuary of MB Hospital, where family members and community people have gathered. Police have started investigating the matter.
