9 dead and 15 injured as bus overturns in Udaipur
In a major accident today (Saturday) morning, a bus carrying pilgrims rammed into a bridge and fell over killing 9 pilgrims on the spot and leaving 15 others injured. The accident happened at Nayla village on the Pratap Nagar - Balicha bypass.
In a major accident today (Saturday) morning, a bus carrying pilgrims rammed into a bridge and fell over killing 9 pilgrims on the spot and leaving 15 others injured. The accident happened at Nayla village on the Pratap Nagar – Balicha bypass.
The video-coach bus carrying pilgrims first hit 2 motorcycles before ramming into the bridge and falling over. Goverdhan Vilas police immediately rushed to the spot and took the injured and dead to MB Hospital. Condition of 4 of the injured is said to be critical.
Police said that all the pilgrims were going from Ahmedabad to Haridwar. On the Balicha bypass the bus driver lost control of the bus in an attempt to save a motorcycle and scooter rider driving in front of him. In doing so, the bus lost grip and fell over from the bridge.
Police is still trying to figure out the identities of the deceased and injured.
