The series of accidental deaths in Udaipur is continuing unabated. An uncle-niece duo succumbed to an accident yesterday on their way from Lakadwas to Udaipur City.
The accident happened on the Lakadwas-Jhamar Kotra road. As per the police information, Bedwas (Pratapnagar) resident Veniram had gone to his in-laws place Salumber with his wife. After performing the rakshabandhan rites, on their way back, the other relatives got into the car while Veniram took his niece Bhawna with him on his Activa.
They were on their way back to Udaipur when a speeding trailer hit the Activa and threw both Veniram and Bhawna on the road. The trailer wheels then passed over Bhawna and Veniram killing them on the spot.
The trailer driver left the trailer 3 kms from the spot of the accident and fled the scene.
Pratapnagar police reached the spot and kept the dead bodies in the MB Hospital mortuary. The bodies were later handed over to the relatives.
Police has confiscated the trailer and lodged a case against the driver.
