Udaipur, May 24, 2025 - Three people were killed and more than 15 injured when a sleeper bus overturned in Rajsamand today, May 24, morning. According to reports, the sleeper bus, operated by a private travel company, was traveling from Ahmedabad to Bhilwara.

It is believed  that the bus was overspeeding and, as a result, the driver lost control of the vehicle and it overturned near the Bhava bus stand.

Upon receiving information about the accident, local police reached the scene and initiated rescue operations. With the help of a crane, the bus was turned over and trapped passengers were rescued.

Following the accident, the driver fled the scene and efforts are underway to locate him.

Kankroli Police Station in-charge Hansram informed the media that the cause of the accident is being investigated although it is suspected that the driver had dozed off at the wheel of the overspeeding bus. He shared that the injured were immediately admitted to RK Hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment.

The bodies of the deceased have been sent for postmortem.
